daily kaddish: for don sr

The funeral for our neighbor Don, Sr. was this afternoon. Unfortunately another engagement prevented my attending.

I guess our neighbor, his son, Don, Jr., is just Don now. Whereas most of us probably just feel like our identity changes when, god forbid, we lose our parents, a “Junior”‘s identity changes quite literally. His life changes, his name changes. Maybe that’s as it should be. —Erin
