oh my. I started out with a smile, since ערב של שושנים is probably my favorite song in the world — but my smile dissolved to teary eyes, I’m afraid. Thank you for that — it was just right. My grandpa would have taken those minor chords and turned them into a lesson on the rights of laborers in the fields of all those beautiful shoshanim… And then he would have joined you on oud or mandolin — for collaboration is an act of union, and he was a union man.
