I became a co-presenter at an industry conference by accident with Tina Wuelfing Cargile<\/a>, and that experience led to our becoming co-columnists for Multilingual<\/a> magazine. My collaboration with Tina came out of nowhere, seemed improbable the whole time it was happening, and has brought any number of blessings into my life.<\/p>\n Tina died last September\u2014her yahrtzeit is coming up. She was the third death in my inner circle in 2010, after my beloved black labrador retriever, Candy Pants, in March, and one of my life’s great loves, Nanc, in May.\u00a0So Tina was who I was thinking about as the one good experience I’d had with collaboration. And I’ve had mixed experiences with the corporate teamwork thing\u2014a team can do wonders, but it’s rarely a pure pleasure.<\/p>\n I’ve been thinking about Tina lately because earlier this week I got together with her boss from back in the day, Shelly Orr Priebe. It started as a business meeting\u2014exploring still more collaborations\u2014and then it was time for dinner and friendship.
